What is KSO?
Ken Ha'Shemesh Ha'Olah (KSO) is the outreach branch of Habonim Dror Australia. KSO facilitates programs and events in regional areas, equipping them to take an active role in their communities and connect to our broader movement!
Our mifgashim (outreach events) provide an incredible space for communities to come together and for Jewish kids to gain a youth movement experience. These outreaches take place across Australia, including in Byron Bay, the Sunshine Coast, Bellingen, Canberra, Hobart and help out with JAZY in Adelaide. If you're keen to bring Habo to your community, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
We also run online peulot for our senior chanichim every second Monday evening, allowing them to connect to each other and Habo throughout the year

Mifgashim 2026
PAST MIFGAHIM (Outreaches):
In Term 1, we went to Byron Bay, Sunshine Coast and Geelong, reconnecting with the community bringing a great start to 2026.
In Term 2, we went to Byron Bay (once for our very first senior seminar! and once for the whole community), Canberra, Geelong, Hobart and helped out with JAZY in Adelaide. We had the very best time, and from the success of these outreaches, we were able to send around 20 chanichim on Sydney and Melbourne Winter camps!
UPCOMING MIFGASHIM
In Term 3: We have two outreaches planned...
1. Community Shabbat Dinner in Geelong on the 28th of August. It will be a vegetarian potluck dinner with additional evening activities for the chanichim. If you would like to sign up, copy this link https://hdoz.wufoo.com/forms/r1amaq3r0bs5jmc/
2. Sunshine Coast: We will be joining the local community Shabbat dinner on Friday the 4th of September and we will run an additional evening activity for the chanichim, followed by a day full of programming for chanichim aged 8-18 on the 5th of September.
