It's hard to believe, but Habonim Dror Australia has been around for the last 70 years. That is 7 decades of enriching young lives, enhancing Jewish culture, promoting socialist values, instilling a love for Israel and developing leadership in the Jewish community.

For many of us, it was the best period of our lives – a time when we were vibrantly enthused with the energy for change, and when the power of a group was so overwhelmingly palpable.

Many of us have made Aliyah, forming Kibbutzim and becoming beneficial citizens in Israel's society. Many of us have stayed here, getting involved in the Jewish community, raising families and sending our kids to Habo. Each and every one of us is a container of memories, experiences and great, life-long friendships!

Being in a youth movement is an amazingly empowering process; being a part of a group with a cause, structure and method, is a unique experience that others might not understand.

To be a part of a movement with such an admired legacy is a great source of pride and esteem for all of us.

As we ensure that the flame is kept alive, we also want to take a minute to celebrate our magnificent heritage!
