Habo Calendar

Habonim Dror Australia has a number of events and seminars that are held regularly each year, comprising the Habo calendar. We hold a winter and a summer camp each year for each ken, as well as a massive federal senior camp which often attracts over 200 chanichim and over 60 madrichim. In between camps, meetings and other cultural activities and events are held on a week to week basis in all kenim.

Beyond this there are a number of federal seminars for tafkidim holders (va'ad mazkirim and va'ad chinuch), as well as an ideology seminar held for the bogrim in most states. Perhaps the most important seminar in the Habo calendar is ma'apelim seminar (commonly known as ma'ap sem) where the entire bogrim body get together to plan for federal camp, to be educated and motivated as a federal movement. Ma'apelim seminar is also when our annual veida, our highest decision making forum, is held, which is where resolutions are made, where the ideology may be amended, and where the next year's federal mazkirut is elected.

** On every other year an Aliyah Seminar is held, where bogrim get together for a few days to discuss aliyah options and to learn about and explore a possible future for themselves in Israel. Aliyah seminar is usually held in November or January.
